Rebel Cole serves as the Kaye Family Endowed Chair of Finance at the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fla., where he has taught since 2016. Previously, he was a professor of finance DePaul University in Chicago, the University of New South Wales in Sydney and the University of Auckland in New Zealand. He has also served as an economist for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. His primary areas of research are commercial banking, corporate governance, financial institutions, real estate and small-business finance. He has published peer-reviewed articles in academic journals that include the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Financial Intermediation, the Journal of Corporate Finance Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and Real Estate Economics. He received his doctorate in finance from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina.
