Andrew Sutherland

Andrew Sutherland is an assistant professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. He studies how financial and credit report information is used in commercial lending, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. His recent research examines how lending standards vary over the business cycle, and how credit relationships are influenced by bank expertise. He holds a doctorate from the University of Chicago and an master's degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa.
