2021 CSBS Case Study Competition
52 Teams from Across the Country Embark on Community Bank Research
The Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) has announced that 52 student teams from 37 colleges and universities across the nation have entered the 2021 CSBS Community Bank Case Study Competition. The student teams, partnered with local community banks, have started to research how community banks have reacted to two important current events – adjusting to a pandemic and its economic fallout, and responding to the need for diversity and inclusion. The case studies are due May 17, 2021. The teams will undergo three rounds of judging, with the top three teams announced on June 17, 2021.
The list of colleges and universities with student teams participating in this year’s competition can be found on the CSBS website.
This year marks the seventh year of the competition, which is open to undergraduate students in all fields of study as an opportunity to gain valuable first-hand knowledge of the banking industry. Each student member and faculty advisor of the first-place winning team will receive a $1,000 scholarship and be invited to present their work at the Community Banking in the 21st Century research and policy conference, hosted by the Federal Reserve, CSBS and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC). Their work will be published in the annual CSBS Journal of Community Bank Case Studies. Teams that place second and third will also receive scholarships and have their works published in the journal.
