2024 Keynote Conversation to Feature ConnectOne President Elizabeth Magennis
Elizabeth Magennis, President, ConnectOne Bank, Englewood Cliffs, N.J., has been named Community Bank Keynote for the 2024 Community Banking Research Conference, which will be held Oct. 2-3, 2024, at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The conference, now in its 12th year, is sponsored by the Federal Reserve System, the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC). As the 2024 Community Bank Keynote, Magennis will participate in a “Keynote Conversation” on Thursday, Oct. 3, where she will offer her perspectives on the current state of community banking in the U.S. focusing on both the risks to the community bank business model and the opportunities she sees for community banks to better leverage their relationship lending models to compete with larger and non-bank competitors and continued to drive America’s business growth.
Magennis began her career as a teller in a Brooklyn, New York, bank and is now the President of the $9.8 billion-asset ConnectOne Bank. She also serves on the bank’s Board of Directors where she is responsible for the growth, function, and strategic direction of the bank. Magennis has played an integral role in growing the company to a top-performing bank with industry-leading metrics. Under her leadership, the bank has experienced record organic growth, expanded its footprint into new markets, built a robust portfolio, and made significant strides into the digital space.
