Tom Fite was named director of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions in 2016.  As a lifelong public servant, Fite is excited to lead fulfillment of the department’s mission.  Over the past two decades, he has held a number of positions within the department, which encompassed 15 years of field examination and regional supervision experience prior to being named the deputy director of the department's depository division in 2013. Fite represents state regulatory interests during Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council meetings as a member of its State Liaison Committee, which he currently chairs. He was recently named vice chairman of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.  Fite earned his undergraduate degree from Ball State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
